Taking Care of North and South Twin Lakes

This summer, the North & South Twin Lake District will work with experts from TIGRIS Aquatic Services, LLC to to address the growth of the invasive aquatic plant Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM). About 7.8 acres of North Twin Lake and 33.4 acres of South Twin Lake will be treated using a specialized herbicide called ProcellaCOR EC.

The treatments are expected to happen in June 2025, but only after we get the necessary permit from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. We’ll let you know the exact dates of the treatments ahead of time by posting notices along the shoreline near the treatment areas and at public access points.

There are no major restrictions for using the water during and after treatment. The only exception is a 5-day waiting period for watering non-turf plants like gardens or flowers. Lawns (turf) can be watered right away.

Thank you for helping us keep the lakes healthy and beautiful!
